Born and raised in Alsace-Lorraine/France, Bernard Schmidt worked as founding Executive Director of BALLET du NORD and Assistant Manager of the Festival International de Danse de Paris in France. In New York to where he moved in 1984, he managed ELISA MONTE DANCE and developed PENTACLE International, promoting dance and world music groups. Since 1999 he established BERNARD SCHMIDT PRODUCTIONS, INC. an international agency producing touring projects of contemporary dance and world music in venues and at festivals around the world by artists such as Prince DIABATE and WOFA! Percussion & Dance from Guinea Conakry, SALIA nï SEYDOU (Burkina Faso), Ea SOLA (Vietnam), Cia Vicente SAEZ and Miguel POVEDA (Spain), Boyzie CEKWANA (South Africa) and Erik ALIANA (Cameroon).
In addition, tour production consulting, fundraising and US visa application services are available for artists and institutions in English and French languages.

Following their initial 5 weeks of sold out performances in Germany, Austria and France during 2010, AILEY II returned to Europe this year with major tours of the UK and Summer festival performances in Finland and France. The 11/12 international touring season will include first time engagements in Greece and Luxemburg as well as a return 3-week long tour of Germany during May 2012.

Back by popular demand and as a result of their 2-week long West Coast tour of April 2010, SAMARABALOUF is planning its next US-Canada tour for April-May 2012 by performing excerpts of their 4th CD entitled BaBaBa, audience favorites and the first time participation of French based accordionist Jean-Luc Amestoy.
Following its second US tour of November 09 in the South East (Miami, Austin & Baton Rouge), Cie Julie DOSSAVI is hoping to return to the US with her new work entitled Grand Pere N'aime pas le Swing a dance and live music duo she developed with husband Yvan Talbot during Winter 2011 and has been touring since then in France..
As a result of its 2-week long US tour in early 2011 with live music by the Lyon based Debussy String Quartet, La BARAKA is planning a major North American tour for Feb.-March 2013 with NYA, a 75 mns long new work by Abou Lagraa with an all male cast of 10 hip hop dancers from the National Ballet of Algeria.
