Under the artistic directorship of François Petit, SAMARABALOUF! is a delightfully crazy string trio nurtured on the music by world famous gypsy jazz star Django Reinhardt.
François specializes in the Selmer-type acoustic guitar from which he composes all the instrumental pieces for the group’s repertoire. Their 2nd US tour took place during September 05 with a participation at the 1st edition of Globalquerque' 05 and sold out performances in California, Washington's Kennedy Center and at Chicago’s & Lotus (Bloomington/IN) world music Festivals.
Since then, the group has been touring extensively and annually throughout North America, from Anchorage to Toronto via New York’s GlobalFEST 08, Vancouver, Seattle, Los Angeles, Montana, Idaho, Utah, the Mid West, Memphis, Louisiana and Texas while breaking CD sale records at their concerts, the next US Canada tour being scheduled for April/May 2012.
SAMARABALOUF! has also performed on stage with French groups such as Trio Rosenberg, Les Yeux Noirs, Bratch and Mickey 3D. Their discography includes 3 CD’s released by “L’Autre Distribution” in France: Samarabalouf (2000), La Valche Folle (2002) and Profitez en! (May 04). Their 4th CD entitled Bababa, was released in January 2008!

Based in Amiens (North of France), SAMARABALOUF! has since its start in 2001, toured extensively all over France and elsewhere in Europe to as far as Istanbul (June 2011) where their concerts have been met with enthusiastic applause. Some highlights include the famous Francofolies de la Rochelle, Nancy Jazz Pulsations Festivals and at L’ Européeen, a 400-seat theater located in Paris, where they have been invited back several times.
Following a successful tour of Canada (New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & Quebec) during Summer 2003, the trio was invited to make its US debut in Louisiana where they participated at Festival International
rockabilly, integrating popular themes such as the waltz, tango, rumba and the slow. On stage, the group’s energy cohesion and virtuosity bring the audience on trips made of roaming reverie, festive delights and a good dose of humor.
